Saw a you tube video with "Mixup98" and his Maverick 88 Security. It looks like a real good and reliable shotgun for $200.00
Anyone own one to share their thoughts?

I have had one for a little over 30 years. Nothing but total reliability though I haven't shot it all that much in the last few years. Still my go-to shotgun for home defense, sharing time with my Winchester Model 1300 20 gauge, also with an 18" barrel.

I have owned one for almost 18 years and have had no real issues with it. the only issue I had was a bad magazine spring that would not reliably feed shells, it cost me a couple bucks and a few minutes of labor to change it out. I have shot the snot out of all manner of shells, both cheap steel base bulk loads and premium Turkey loads (those stung a little) with no failure to feed with the new spring and no failure to extract. I will say it was well worth the $150 I spent on it.

I have one and lucked out about a year ago and got it for $117 from Gunbroker....plus ship and FFL transfer..it's brown 'furniture' but so what..accurate, reliable, fun to shoot.

They are very reliable. I prefer them to the Mossberg 500 due to the safety placement. (That said, I prefer the 870 to either of them, but that comes from owning them for 38 years.)

No reliability issues with mine that couldn't be fixed. My shell stop needed a little tuning in order to reliably feed shells from the magazine. After a few DIY upgrades, mine sits in a HD role with a loaded tube of buckshot mini shells.
