Mayor Bloomberg
Our founding fathers did not write the Second Amendment to empower people who wanted to terrorize a free state; they wrote it to protect people who could defend ‘the security of a free state.’
What a buffoon. He has no idea what he's talking about. He certainly has one dangerous imagination too.

CBS News said:
Bloomberg's spokesman, Stu Loeser, declined to discuss the workings of the mayor's security, but a former police official offered some details.

Mayors typically are protected by a five- or six-person team of plainclothes detectives, including one who often goes ahead to secure the destination. There are generally three teams that rotate for the 24-hour job.

Isn't that a bit like Rosie O'Donnell talking at a Weight Watcher's Board meeting about how to make people thinner?

Oh no, that's completely different, Bloomburg is an elite, important person who is defending the security of a "free" state. :barf::fire:

If he truly believes this (which is doubtful), why does he insist on and support laws in NYC (not to mention elsewhere) that only deny law abiding residents the right to have firearms? Just how are "the people" supposed to "defend the security of a free state?" With their bare hands? :banghead:

He said on the news that he doesn't want to drive the terrorism out of his city because they will just go somewhere else. Isn't that the point to get it out of HIS city?

I'm sure he thinks that the only people that are capable of defending the security of a free state are police, national guard (the "militia":banghead:), and the military. The rest of us law abiding citizens can only be out to "terrorize a free state".:barf:

That man is a menace to our cause. Why he is so devoted to disarming america,he has spent millions for his new hobby of gun grabbing, I can't figure it out. He is a rich man and that became his new hobby...I do know the whole state of Ga. hates Bloomberg for trying to put our gun stores out of bussiness. He's pretty much laughing stock here in the south. A mayor that can't manage crime in 1 city and constantly blames every other state for all the crime that happening there. Its his constant theme, keeps him in the eye of the press that loves him...it seems to work for him in NewYork "a constant campaign" against all guns...box cutters are probably next on his list.

Actually... I think thats fairly accurate.

Its just too bad he doesnt know what that means. NY a free state? My@ss.

.........suspects on the terrorism watch lists were able to buy guns and explosives from licensed U.S. dealers 1,119 times between 2004 and 2010

Obviously the vast majority of the suspects were just that. We all know that their lists are suspect...........Reminds me of body counts during the Vietnam war.

Does Bloomberg have any political capital left?

Chances are he's about to win a major victory ... I honestly don't see how the current government will turn down the idea of keeping people on the so-called "terrorism watch list" from buying guns ... hell they'll get plenty of Republicans to vote for it (you know McCain & Graham will lead the charge).

Which is why US v Miller 1939 said that current issue military weapons are protected, but not "gangster weapons".

The unorganized militia (all citizens not in military service but eligible to volunteer or be conscripted) should be familiar with current military arms to lessen the training required if called up for emergency service. The founding reason for the NRA of Great Britain and the NRA of America, as well as the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice and the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

I am tempted to order a AR15 lower from Widener's for a M4gery build; think I'll call it "Bloomberg".

No. No. No. No. No!!!!!

If you read any history of the founding of our nation you would know that the 2A was included specifically to check the potential tyranny of state sponsored forces.

The 2A is "the people's" way of letting the gov't know that the power to govern is ultimately in the hands of the people.

closing the Terror Gap

Don't you love the Newspeak these animals keep coming up with?

Just how are "the people" supposed to "defend the security of a free state?"

Because when Bloomberg says "the people" he means HIS people--the cops and SWAT teams. Not the serfs. The serfs aren't really people.

If Bloomberg is really worried about the danger of people having guns, why doesn't he dismiss his armed secruity detail/travelling SWAT team, get out of the armored limo and take the subway to work like everyone else?
