Voting D or R will be another exercise in determining the lesser of 2 evils.
Lesser of 2 evils? How do you figure?
What makes one statist socialist authoritarian less evil than another statist socialist authoritarian?
Dems v. Reps is about the same as Coke v. Pepsi.
It's amazing to me how SNOWED Americans are...that they actually believe that Red States/Blue States represents a difference in ideology and gets so wrapped up in it that nobody (except the Libertarians, anyway) notices that:
1. both of them are selling us out for $$. We have record trade deficits with enemy nations, a disappearing manufacturing base and national debt in the trillions. The end of the American dollar is near, thanks to the rulers the red and blue states have been giving us for the last 100 years.
2. Neither party has candidates who actually respect and want to protect our right to be armed. Yes, they toe the NRA party line from time to time when it will get them good press...but it's of little substance: the ATF is still totally out of control, more anti-gun laws and regulations continue to be added to the already draconian books. CCW in your state? So what? CCW is an insult to the RKBA presuming that we *need permission from the government* to exercise that fundamental right!
3. More spending, more administrations, more bureaucrats, bigger government and more regulations. Both parties are committed to the growth and empowerment of the government, at our expense. That's statist authoritarianism and it is the opposite of individual liberty...which is the important principal that government ought to be concerned about...instead of gay marriage...which is irrelevant and trivial.
4. Both parties are the party of a boot stomping on the face of the people: drugs, guns, tax evasion, hiring someone from the wrong country, sending money to family in the wrong country, etc...whether it's the war on drugs, the war on terrorism, anti-racketeering efforts or a ridicuolously complicated and burdensome tax code, you can count on your friendly elected Democrats and republicans to be united in their desire to see federal police stormtroopers kicking down the doors of Americans to send a message: 'We control you. Submit or die.'
5. And finally, both parties are the party of globalism and loss of American sovereignty. Thanks a lot Senators and Congressmen for your lack of confidence in the founding principals of America and our national heritage.
So yes, enjoy the debates and speeches of the coming campaign season. I'm sure there will be much rhetoric that will contain hundreds of soundbites for the media to endlessly replay and discuss at length amongst panels of experts what it might mean for public policy.
Have fun watching the government goons tilt at windmills and chase down straw men. It will certainly be televised.
Enjoy the satisfaction that comes from seeing your pro gay marriage or anti gay marriage politician elected, where he/she will *finally* be able to 'lead the nation' toward 'vital reform' in the area of 'cultural dignity' blah blah blah.
My vote is for the platform/candidates that most closely resemble Uncle Sam shutting up, minding it's own business and leaving me and everyone else in the world alone to make a living and live in peace.
