I hope calling helps. Evrybody I spoke with seemed disinterested except the aide of Senator JOHN GIANETTI.

It certainly can't hurt. Please everybody, be sure to call and have your friends call as well if they believe in the cause.

calling helps

showing up EARLY on the 10th and absorbing all the peanut gallery seats so the antis have to wait outside would be quite effective

I'm aiming to get there around 10:00 am.

Will you be there Harry? It'd be nice to meet you.

I just made my calls

As I said in the AWB thread, Garagiola's staff was absolutely rude -even Forehand's people were polite and professional about things.

Sen. Mooney's staff enouraged me to attend the hearing, and I want to, but I don't know If I can afford the time off from work right now . . .

Sen. Mooney is a staunch RKBA defender. Send him money. I did even though he does not represent my district. I got that good-for-nothin' Frosh.

Pipkin running this year for US Senate against Mikulski is also suppose to be very RKBA. Sent him money too.

Just sent e-mails to the entire Judiciary committee membership.

i'm out of the State on a business trip next week

heres a report from todays press conference from a Brother at Arms
:
Hello all, today in Annapolis ASA squared off against
CeaseFire at the Mike Miller Senate Building. The
conference was a photo opp for SB-288 (Maryland
Assault Weapons Ban) being introduced by Senator Rob
Garagiola
of Montgomery County's 15th legislative district. Ida
Ruben, Brian Frosh and Neil Quinter were also in
attendance as well as CeaseFire's own Leah Barrett,
Ginny Wolf and Lillian Nolan. The box social kicked
off
around 12:00 noon and ran till 1:00 P.M. I asked
Garagiola "what about self defense?" when he opened
the floor for questions. He said then he would only
take questions from the media after i identified
myself and ASA. All of there speakers talked about not
coming after existing guns or hunters and sportsmen.
He then continued pointing at a picture of a Striker
shotgun and stated that "this street sweeper assault
weapon holds a hundred rounds of ammo." I retort and
state that it holds 12 rounds, "how can you lie like
that?" I ask? he then says "take it out side." I
remind him of my first amendment rights. After the
fireworks i spoke with the Washington Times, Baltimore
Sun and Washington Post. There were a few others that
i don't remember. I also made sure that everyone in
the media got a copy of the famous John Muhammad
wearing an Million Mom March t-shirt flier. I think
some of the televised media might have caught me
as they panned my way on questions but i can not be
sure. If folk read or see anything let me know? John
J. of AGC was in the hall but i did not see or hear him
speak.

John

Another suggested testimony from someone on the Republican Central Committee:

As for testimony, my suggestion is to simply say, “My name is …, I’m from legislative district xx, and I am angry enough to be here in person to tell you I oppose the gun ban, and that I’ll be watching all of you in 2006. “ End of testimony.
