When shooting a 25 yd target: is the distance measured to the target from the muzzle, front foot, shooters midline, etc..? Does it change for different disciplines i.e. Bullseye or Air Pistol ?

Distance is measured from the 'Firing Line' to the face of the target.
The shooters feet may not extend over the firing line.
The pistol barrel or front sight can, if your arms and pistol barrel are long enough.
