Never paid much attention to her - but today she was talking about the 7 year kid in NJ that was suspended for drawing a stick figure with a water gun.

Her final comment on the report, was:

"We need to calm down - We need to teach our kids and understand our selves, that guns are not evil. Guns don't kill - it's the person behind the gun that is the problem."

My wife looked at me and said:

"So she just gained like 15 points in your book - Huh?"

Um... yup.

Of course somebody else on Fox this morning was commenting on the drought in Georgia. She noted that a particular lake provided water to three BILLION people in the area. There are only SIX billion people on the planet. No wonder they're running out of water, if everbody got a glass of water from the kitchen tap at the same time, you could probably SEE the water level go down!

I'd say a full 100 points! I'll tell you this, that is the only story I have ever heard about a talking head saying something not overly negative about firearms. If it were California, she would have said we need to make sure thsi child gets the mental heap he needs before it's too late!

I'll top that,

Friday on O'reilly, she was debating with another Fox talking head, over the teacher (whose name escapes me at the moment,) in Oregon suing to be allowed to carry completely legally to work. The other reporter (both women with law degrees, incidentally) was saying it was a bad idea, but Megyn cut her off, saying something to the effect of, "Absolutely!! It's legal, she's trained, she has the correct permit, there is a clear need, there is absolutely no reason she shouldn't be allowed to control her own safety."

I was glad my wife wasn't in the room.

I caught the O'Reilly discussion too.

The one that was shocked and disgusted at the very idea of a teacher who was licensed and trained being allowed to carry to defend herself was Liz Wiehl (sp?).

Her look of shock at Kelly even suggesting that the idea of a teacher carrying a gun was OK told us all we needed to know about how she feels about guns in general.

I was pleasantly surprised when O'Reilly supported Kelly's point of view which was "why not let her carry, she's licensed and trained for it?" and asked Wiehl what her response would be to the family if the husband killed her in the parking lot or doorway of the school in front of the kids one of these days, since he would know she was unarmed if they did it her way?

Wiehl started to say, "Well, the police can protect her" and O'Reilly said the police aren't always there for her.

Last week they were discussing the Hugo Chavez billboard that said "Don't Buy Gas From This Ass". Nobody on Fox would say "ass". Megyn bugged Hemmer until he sorta' kinda' whispered it and then when it was her turn she jumped right up and not only said it, she emphasized it.

What a Gal!!!

The libs throw a lot of slop in her direction but she's High on my list.

deanimator: BILLION

I heard it too, BUt, it went right over my head. DO NOT GET THIS OLD! BTW, Kelly is HOT, they have a bunch of them.

I can't say positive if she is pro-gun but she seems to have something most "journalists" don't have, Common Sense. Hope she is pro-gun, that would be icing on the cake.

I watch Fox News religiously and I can say that every time I've seen her either reporting a gun or 2A related story or debating a gun related legal issue (shes a former lawyer i think) or 2A issue she is consistantly in favor of our side. in my opinion, shes said enough on the air to at least make me think she's pro gun. it is nice to see reporters & commentators with common sense.

I think she is married to Greg Kelly who is a Marine Colonel (Iraq Vet), Fox Newscaster, and son of the NYC Police Commissioner. So I hope she would be pro-gun. And yes is is easy on the ole eyes!!

I don't think she's necessarily pro-gun, but maybe more pro-logic and pro-common sense, which also happen to be qualities of someone who is pro-gun.

I hate Fox News (among others) but it's nice to know this woman is pro-gun, and apparently fairly attractive as well.

Big thumbs up for Megyn. I don't even care that she is attractive, the fact that a news anchor/reporter is even expressing an opinion that isn't anti-gun is something we should all be ecstatic about.

Think about it, when was the last time you saw a national or even local news person that painted even a moderate or balanced story about guns and their use.

I saw her interview on O'Reilly with Lis Wiel regarding the Oregon teacher and I thought Lis Wiel was going to crap her pants when Megyn said the teacher should be able to carry in a school.

Good stuff.

Gotta agree with barbarian, FAIRLY attractive.

To be preemptive, my girl is pro-gun and has been asked to model.

Sorry, I just think some people grade on a curve :D
