Randy, we did get to that first home visit, and the lady from CPS about went nuts when I walked out of the bedroom in uniform with my sidearm. She explained that not only would we NOT be allowed to have ANY firearms on the premises, but the one I carried to and from work would have to be stored across the STREET with a neighbor! My wife unloaded both barrels on her about wanting us to take custody of a child to keep them safe and then removing tools we use to keep them safe! It was a speech that would have made Patton stand up and salute. Needless to say, that ended our journey right there.
