There are several ranges around me that offer "Mid-Range and F-Class Rifle" matches. I'm hoping someone can clarify the difference between these two classes. I'm figuring it's something to do with the rifles allowed but that's about all I know. Thanks

I'm going to say its the distance that the match is shot. I believe if the maximum distance is 600 yds or less, its considered Mid-Range. F-Class needs 800 or 1000 yds. I'm just saying that because a local club sponsors Mid-range matches shot at 500 yds. I think equipment requirements are pretty much the same.

Those matches are sanctioned by the NRA so their rules will apply. I suppose it could be Googled...

Of the two ranges I'm looking at, one maxes out at 300 and the other at 600. I've been googling and can find plenty about midrange f-class, but nothing about the distinction. I would have started to think they were one in the same except I've seen the results listed separately.

NRA mid-range is 300-600 yards. Long range is 800-1000 yards. Both can be shot conventional (prone using only a sling for support).

F Class is a seperate category that allows shooting prone with supports such as bipod or front rest with a sandbag in the rear. Google f class.
