Middle aged Kel-Tec P32 weird extraction problem.

Fiocchi ammo has cases that are slightly thicker than most. It appears the case is hanging up on the case mouth of the top round in the magazine.
I lightly roll crimp my reloaded .32acp and never see that type of failure to eject.
If you or someone you know reloads.32 has a seater/crimper .32acp die, you could try additional crimping of the ammo.
Appreciated, but the direction I'm going is to get bone stock rounds to work as is. It's possible my brand new RSA has fixed it, but I won't know for sure until I test more. As a side note, I have a spare new P32 which demonstrates catching on the case mouth when I manipulate the barrel downward as I draw the slide back. I suspect they all do this but function reliably with good springs.

We shall see.

Today:
Pistol does not like semi-jacketed hollow points. Extracting case gets hung up on the edge between jacket and lead. No more SJHP for you, P32 #1.
It does however as of now (after KT repair) eat fiocchi ball ammo like candy. Could not make it fail in 56 rounds. Strong hand, weak hand, just ran.

My conclusion at this point is KT did fix it. I'll run more ammo to satisfy myself on it's reliability, but for now Fiocchi ball works and so does PMC JHP. The PMC JHP is what use in my Seecamp LWS32, so I do have a bunch if it.

Dirt clods are very satisfying to hit :)

Further testing today.

Shot 7+1 from each of these in order, one brand per mag in a rotating cycle:

32 rounds each, one mag at a time:
Magtech 71 grain FMJ
Fiocchi 73 grain FMJ
PMC 60 grain JHP

Magtech was noticeably weak and inconsistent in report and recoil. On the last round of one magazine I could feel and hear the weak report and had a stovepipe. This is good for practice ammo only.
Fiocchi was consistent and zippy as one would expect. No problems at all. This is suitable for carry.
PMC was consistent and normal. I forgot to install my flywire and as a result experienced a genuine 32ACP rimlock. With flyerwire (rimlock prevention) this is suitable for carry.

I am happy with these results, and it validates the age-old wisdom of using Fiocchi ball in Keltec P32 pistols. Of course one should test their particular pistol with their particular lot of ammo.

I'm a new P32 owner, and while I know what rimlock is and what causes it, I haven't experienced it, because I've only been using S&B FMJ. How hard is it to clear this malfunction? I'm guessing a tap-rack-bang isn't going to work, but does dropping the mag and pulling the top round out work, or does the gun get locked up harder than that?

Generally rimlock requires stripping the mag forcefully because the slide is driving the locked rounds forward. There is no clean immediate action I know of. Much better to prevent it.
