Midway Range Bag WOW

I purchased the Midway Range Bag a while back and WOW is this thing big. The Wife and I loaded it up to head to the range today and with 4 handguns, ammo and the usuall stuff and the extra stuff I felt I needed to put in this thing. I think I am going to have to get a little red wagon to tote it around. Good thing we didn't have to park a long way away. Don't get me wrong I really really like the bag but may have to rethink some of the stuff I put in it.

It's because the management here takes the incorrect view that LINKING a picture is the same as HOSTING it. If one LINKS a picture, you don't have a copy of it, thus it is not copyright violation. If you download it, and host it some place, then it's copyright infringement, but it is of such a minor amount that no one would ever prosecute for it.

While I can understand the morality issues, it seems to me to be pandering towards the egregiously litigious nature of today's society, and the high road way of dealing with it should be civil disobedience. Plus, the internet was designed to be free. People need to quit putting laws on it.

Kliegl - with all due respect, you can urge THR to go the "civil disobedience route" when you offer to pay the legal bills incurred when Derek is sued for copyright infringement. I'm not going to get into a debate here because this isn't the place for it, but suffice to say that it isn't as easy as putting one's foot down and crowing "information wants to be free!" There are some very scary, very nasty things happening on the web when it comes to copyright issues, and THR has chosen (correctly, IMHO) to keep ourselves out of it by being very careful with what we post. If you have a problem with that, I suggest you start a thread over in Tech Support and discuss it with some of the higher-ups.

Back on track - I know what the OP means by needing a wagon to tote the range bag around. Back when I had guns and the time to shoot them, I bought myself a range bag to help organize my range trips. The thing ended up weighing a ton with all the gear I was able to stuff in it. Totally unwieldy and a literal pain to transport. I ended up ditching it for a pair of ammo cans that held a much pared-down but sufficient "range kit" and haven't looked back. The only time the bag comes out is if I'm bringing more guns than usual, or if I'm taking a newb shooting and need extra ears/eyes/etc.

I picked up one of the Midway range bags too. And I agree, it's HUGE. You certainly can get everything you need in one, mine is always lighter when I leave the range.

Especially if you are promoting the item. So, Midway is going to sue this web sight because somebody really like a product they sell and post a picture of it? Actually, even if you were putting the item down and posted a picture of it, most 'smart' vendors would realize the old adage.... "even bad publicity is good publicity."

Back to the OP's point, I HATE stupid heavy range bags. I now use 2 smaller tool bags (like you find at Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, etc). The 16 and 18 inch bags I use help split the load, guns and accesories in the 18in and ammo in the 16in.

I have had mine a couple years and you are right about big. Guess thats why they give use a shoulder strap too. Good bag , holds up well. Even my cats like to sleep on it.

Post #7 said it well. That said this is currently mu favorite forum and the good outweighs the bad. Anyway, 4 guns isn't that much stuff. At least give the measurements of the bag.

I have the small Midway bag and I love it. But I can still put enough stuff in it to make it way too heavy to be comfortable. I love the post about the cat sleeping on the bag. My cat claims the bag for his own when I get it out and loves to nap on in. White cat, black bag = big mess. I have to keep one of those lint roller things handy.

How is the quality on it? Could I expect it to last a decade or so? Strong zippers? Double stitched seams?

Though slightly embarrassing, I must admit to having commandeered an olive drab canvas-like material messenger bag from my wife. I knew I was going to catch hell as soon as I started removing all the lipstick and such, but it's turned out to be a great bag for the range.

And it didn't cost me anything... monetarily anyway.

I have had one for about 4 years now. Always heavy, 200 rounds of 45,mags, tools, main 1911 and a spare. Try to shoot once a week plus matches. Tossed it in the dirt and back of the truck. Its durable, only problem with a big bag is you carry too much stuff.....but i might need it!

When I went to order mine midway was out of the smaller bag . In ened up with there big one and it is easy to put 40lbs in it. I have a big yellow towel on top for the cats to lay on . Keeps the darn hair level down to a minimum. They jump about 4 1/2 feet up to get on it too. Not bad for a bunch of older over weight cats.
Head'n to the range now with a glock 17, kahr cm9, ruger 22 and a pile of ammo.

I've got one of their olive drab compact range bags and it's a good one. It holds several of their 14" tactical pistol cases. They're an excellent value at $30. Although I think Uncle Mike's bags are constructed better, out of better materials. They also cost more.

This may sound a bit silly BUT I ask with all seriousness, does anyone make/use a range bag with wheels on it like a suitcase? Some people carry ALOT of stuff to the range and I think it could be a useful product.

The Midway range bag is a product that goes under my list of "Best Money Spent". On sale often for $39.xx it's a hellofadeal. Not only is it rugged and big, but it's well thought out with pockets and areas for your pistol magazines and a removable pouch for ammo. Heck you could spend more on lunch and all you'd have to show is indigestion

I'm a big fan of many of the Midway branded products.

I have the large range bag, and frankly it is perfect. Sometimes it is too big, but that is an easy fix. The big bag came with with a smaller bag inside of it. So if I just want to go shoot one gun, I throw ammo, hearing protection, eye protection, and a bore snake in the small bag.

The carry strap is nice and wide and comfortable. It comes with 2 removable pistol pouches. Most importantly, it will hold all of the magazines and little tools that I would otherwise forget.

Normally I carry 2 range bags; 1 for my guns and gear and 1 for the ammo. Works just fine for me. If the need arises anything else can go in large single compartment bag that I can sling over my shoulder.

I always recommend the Midway bag.
It does get heavy because of all the stuff you put in it.
If it's too big, Midway sells a medium that may fill the bill.
Forget all others.

I have the bag too and like it. I like the compartments, the gun rugs, and other things that came with it. It does get a little heavy but it beats carrying multiple bags.

I saw a guy at the pistol range Friday with a wheeled crate thing, like huge suit case on a hand truck.

I think I may pick up one of these bags. The only reason I have not yet ordered one is the small and far away pictures and poor description on the midway website. It sure would be nice if someone took some pictures and posted them here on this site... (hint hint)
