I understand that Midway USA gives a discount to holders of Curio/Relic licenses. If I am not mistaken, it is the same as a dealer discount. I was wondering if there is a way to figure up what the dealer prices are from the regular catalog or do I have to wait to receive one of their "dealer" catalogs. In other words, is there a code to figure out what the dealer prices will be? I know I will not be able to order from them at the dealer price until I am set up with an account , but I was wanting to figure up what kind of deals I am in store for.

It varies, depending on the product, and there is no set across the board reduction.

However, almost everything is discounted at least a little, and on more expensive items its not uncommon for the discount to be 10-15%.

For example, I recently bought a scope from them, and that purchase alone more than paid for my C&R license.

I don't use my C&R license for much, but certainly will keep it renewed just to save at Midway.

Do they send you a separate "dealer" catalog at Midway with the dealer prices listed in it as opposed to Brownells, for example, that has it in a code?

When you set up an online dealer account with them, the dealer prices will show up online along with the regular prices as long as you are signed in.

Just to give you an idea of the dealer prices. Many times the sale price on items will be almost (if not exactly) the same as the dealer price. There is no set percentage across the board, it depends on the item.

No codes that I know of, but fax or email them your C&R, it usually takes a couple of weeks for them to get your account set up because they do a lot of business. Then when you log in the dealer prices show up, I'd love to say I'm saving a ton of money, but it just causes me to spend more.:)

Midway sends out a dealer catalog to individuals who are on the dealer list. In order to see the dealer prices online you have to set up an online account thru them. Once they recieve your C&R license it will convert it to a dealer account. Sign in and the item will reflect the regular price as well as the dealer price.

What LJ says.

Do they send you a separate "dealer" catalog at Midway with the dealer prices listed in it as opposed to Brownells, for example, that has it in a code?

That is correct for the catalogs.

As noted above, set up your account with both and you'll see the dealer prices when you log in on their websites.

Know I'm resurrecting a bit of a zombie thread here, but have updated information which I think may be helpful to some folks, as old dead threads like these found via google search were part of my motivation to obtain a C&R license, partially to yes collect C&R type firearms, but also in large part in order to obtain the dealer discounts. Anyways, my recent experience and thoughts.....

Got my C&R in the mail this past Saturday. Later the same day emailed signed copies of it to Midway, Brownells, and Grafs. All accepted them by email and got me immediately hooked up with the dealer pricing, and here's what I found out about each (which by the way are presented in the same order in which I received the discount from the retailer)......

1. MidwayUSA - I already had about 30 items in my "wish list" prior to getting the discount. Looking through them all and comparing them to the non-discounted prices, the discount is usually around $0.50 to $3 depending on the item. Prior to obtaining the dealer discount, I had been using the often posted coupons at slickguns.com that often provides $10 off 50, $15 off 100, and $20 off 200. I discovered that under dealer pricing, you can no longer use these coupon codes. Randomly picking some items in my wish list, in order to get $10 off, I'd likely have to put over $100 worth of merchandise in my cart. In this case, on most "small orders" of say less than $200, it makes more sense to buy at consumer prices and get the coupon discount. I could see the discount becoming more pertinent if really ordering in dealer type quantities/amounts, but again, unless you're ordering several hundred dollars or more of stuff at a time, I think it makes more financial sense to use regular pricing, in line with more of a consumer type use. Seems like their discounting practices truly is to reward buyers of dealer type volume. Oh, also there's a $4 fee for orders less than $40 as opposed to I believe a $3 consumer charge for orders less than a certain amount, again if your orders tend to be on the smaller size, it benefits to not be under dealer rules.

2. Grafs - Per the email I received, "dealer minimum order is $100, a small order fee for orders less than $100 is now $5." Also, "to maintain dealer pricing you must purchase a minimum of $2,000 annually. So again, for most average consumers, placing smaller orders, they're discount seems aimed at true dealers.

3. Brownells - Also had several items in my wish list, which after re-examining once the dealer prices went into effect, I noticed average discounts of between several dollars up to 15-20 dollars depending on the item. As Brownells infrequently has coupon codes, I found this to be an excellent discount for a more average to slightly above average consumer perchaser like myself.

Conclusion - When obtaining a C&R for online ordering discount dealer prices, consider your purchasing habits/typical volume/prices, and if you're like me, a fairly average to slightly above average firearm product consumer, definitely get the Brownells discount, but stick to MidwayUSA's coupons, and +/- on bothering with Grafs.

Nothing against any of these companies, I just think that they're doing what they mean to do, offer discounts to large volume orders, and not necessarily looking to give that much of a discount to an average Joe that get's his C&R, as seems to be the promise on this and other forum posts like it.

Grafs - Per the email I received, "dealer minimum order is $100, a small order fee for orders less than $100 is now $5." Graf's doesn't enforce the $2000 annual minimum. I just renewed my dealer status there a few weeks ago. I place one or two orders per year; the biggest was $800 but most are barely over $100.

I'm not sure the discount at Midway is worth the restrictions.

Del-Ton rifle kits are 40 dollars cheaper through Midway with C&R discount than they are at Del-Ton.

Although Brownells discount varies from item to item it is by far the best company to do business with. They accept coupons. A recent $48.00 order only cost me around $4.00 with my coupon and dealer discount.

Where do you find Brownells coupons like that. Best thing I've ever found for them is free shipping on $99+. Haven't seen coupons for orders less than 100. In the past, I've used MidwayUSA more as they have coupons for lower value orders, and they ship to my house in about 1-2 days. But with the C&R discounts at Brownells, have a feeling I'm going to be ordering from Brownells a lot more.
