I have a P229 and it’s a little too fat for my hands. I really wanted to like it because it’s the Secret Service gun.

The Hogue Extreme series G10 grips are lower profile and will slim it down so it's more acceptable. They make quite a difference on P226 as well. They are a bit pricey but they do make a difference.

I’ve considered grabbing one of the police trade in S&W M&P 2.0 .40 cal pistols from AIM Surplus for $249 and putting an aftermarket.357 Sig barrel in it.

Just this afternoon I was trying to find out who does drop-in 357S barrels for G22.3. Looks like KKM is the front-runner. Now to look for dies….ought to be fun to reload. Who needs a 9mm when you can go 357S?

i would make sure I had the barrel in hand before I bought the gun. I don’t think they are easy to find.

Definitely one of my favorite calibers. I have a S&W 40 with a KKM 357 sig conversion barrel. But I’m looking for a full size nightmare if anyone knows where one is I’m open to any suggestions.

My favorite self defense cartridge, if not carrying a ..45 ! I reload 125 Sierra HP at 1350 fps in my Gray Guns p226 E2 . Looks like I'll have to take new pictures, the gun is on a war belt in my vault.

Also you CAN install the E2 modifacation, you will need the E2 shorter mainspring assembly which makes trigger pull better and is low cost . That will reduce the Grip reach to trigger by almost 1/2" and in my opinion is the best grip option on most of the non semi custom P229,226 and 220 ! the picture of my P226 above has that grip with a grit applique applied over it, the E2 has good texture as is tho.

My 357 mags load 9mm just fine, but I have a bunch of Pmags for the 9s.

Gonna grab a used model 22 .40S&W barrel. Have a three cartridge pistol...
