might be trading my pistol for a Beretta 1201 FP....

it's my only pistol but I've been wanting a 1201 for awhile. I know pumps l;ike the back of my hand but the semi auto is a mythical creature to me. What should I look for and inspect to make sure I'm making a good trade? I want a functional gun and I know semis can be temperamental...I REALLY want the gun but how are they over time? They seem VERY complicated internally...

Never get rid of your only pistol! Give up your only defense for a shotty doesnt sound like a good deal to me. If anything see if you can get rid of your pistol get another pistol you like and put the rest toward a mossberg 500 JUST IN CASE!!!!

The 1201FP is recoil operated and fairly simple mechanically. Mine has been completely reliable with light game loads.

On the other hand, I wouldn't ditch my only pistol to get a shotgun. Sort of like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.
