Might have to add a Glock to the collection.

I love my G44 and it goes to the range with me pretty much every time I go. Since it has been easier for me to find 22lr ammo over the last year, I have been shooting my G44 and my Kel-Tec CP33 quite a bit.

Have a 44 and a couple TX22s, I find the design of the TX makes for a little more accurate shooter, the barrel locks into the frame like a blowback operated pistol which helps the accuracy, but both are very, very reliable. BTW that's an 18 round mag for the 44 from ProMag..it actually works! But, it is a bit of a PITA to load.

Ya, Im tempted by the 44 as well. It would be my first Glock.
My 44 wasn't my first Glock, but it is the first Glock I really learned to like, and that happened in a hurry - less than 1 box of ammo through it. It was only a few weeks after that that I bought my Glock 19 to match my Glock 44, and my Glock 19 is my CCW now.
BTW, when I was fishing with a couple of buddies last Friday morning, I was wearing my little Glock 44 in a Barsony brand flap holster tucked behind my right hip. The place behind my right hip for my "fishing" gun used to be reserved for my old Model 63 Smith. Times change, and so do I - though maybe not as fast.;)

I have 2 10 round promags for my Ruger P345. They been fine. I bought them before i heard of them having a bad reputation. Maybe it's just some of their mags that have issues.

I liked my G44 but I didn't find it terribly accurate, which is to say it wasn't inaccurate it just didn't group that well. Comparatively my Ruger MkIV shoots circles around it all day and twice on Sunday. I ultimately sold the G44, it was definitely cool but it didn't do anything better for me.

I think the 44 is a bit of a different critter from most of the other 22's out there. It fills a niche that the others dont/cant. That being, its basically a sub caliber 19, and aimed at that crowd, if not the Glock crowd in general.

If youre looking for a bullseye type "target" pistol, this probably isnt for you. Same goes if you dont like Glocks. But dont let that hold you back. :)

If youre looking for a 22 that works exactly like your full caliber Glocks, fits in all your double stack Glock 9mm holsters, and the mags work in your mag carriers and is for all intents and purposes, a .22 caliber 19, youre golden.

Im not really big on using a .22 as a replacement for a full caliber training gun, but it does have some cross over uses there. All my gear is the same, and the gun is basically the same, so I can still work on things I normally would with my 9mm guns. Accuracy is basically the same as my 9mm guns and more than acceptable. I replaced the factory sights with the same three-dot night sights I use on my other Glocks, so thats all the same. The triggers are what you'd expect from any Glock, so thats the same.

Most of the other 22's out there dont give you any of that, and I think thats the big difference. Ive owned all manner of 22 pistols over the years, and most were geared to the people who like to plink or shoot more traditional "target" type shooting. Nothing wrong with most of them either, for what they are, but they arent what the 44 is and offers.

I think if the 44 gets people who in the past really werent Glock people shooting one, thats a plus, and for everyone all around. Personally, I think all the complaints you often hear from people about Glocks, are from people who really never actually spent enough time with one to actually learn it, and thats really their loss. Its different from what they are used to, and most things that are, take time to work things out. Doesnt matter what it is or who makes it. I think if most gave it a good try, and shot one for a bit, they would find that they are actually great guns, and shoot very well. And once you do figure them out, switching back and forth from what you had and the Glocks, is a non issue. I do that all the time, and on a weekly basis, and never give it a thought.

And dont be surprised, too, if you find you actually shoot them better and more naturally than what you currently have/use, especially in a more realistic atmosphere. ;)

Comparing apples to oranges. And yes I own a Ruger MkII along with my G44. The G44 (or any trainer type) was never meant to be a target pistol. With that being said I get good accuracy at 15 yards with my G44 and have no problems making one shot hits on clay birds out to 50 yards with my G44. I don't expect the same level of accuracy out of my G44 or my 1911 conversion slides as I do from my Ruger MkII, S&W 22A or Kel-Tec CP33.

Plinking cans and steel it will be fine. I have my Ruger 22/45 target pistols and my SW victory and my colt 1911 rail guns. For more precise target shooting. I liked how light the Glock was too.

I’m thinking the exact same thing for the G-44, it’ll replace the S&W Models 34 and 317 for me.

We did some shooting today at our cookout. My brother bought his Glock 44 along. I shot good with it. The accuracy surprised me for a little gun. It fit me well too. Pretty cool 22lr i have to admit.

CoalCrackerAl; if you get one, try a Wolff 5.0 lb striker spring and reduced power plunger spring. Man, does that $12.00 upgrade make a difference ;).

Stay safe.

Just do NOT go below a 5 pound striker spring. I tried a Wolff 4.5 pound spring in mine and got a bunch of light primer strikes. Right now I am running a 5 pound striker spring and a Glock minus connector in mine. I also swapped out the OEM trigger shoe for a Serpico Lyte flat face trigger.

Yes I tried the Nelson 44X RMR slide but the first gen 44X slides were too heavy to function reliably. I have at 10,000 rounds through my G44 now. In the last couple of months I have been running my G44 slide on a Lone Wolf Freedom Wolf frame. I like the Freedom Wolf frame since the grip is a bit smaller than the G44/G19 grip.

I thought about getting one as a trainer, but my M&P 22 serves the purpose just fine, and when its not being used as a range trainer, it is a suppressor host with mounted light to deal with pests.

I was just kicking around getting a g44 but if I get another Glock (I’m already a Glock guy) I would get a g19 or g45. We just turned the corner on the shortage so I’m not as concerned about replacing my stock of 9mm. Of course I’ll be watching close and not assume we’re in the clear. For people new to Glocks, the 44 sounds like a great place to start.

Ya. 5.0 is as low as I’ll go on every Glock. I won’t fiddle with any of the lighter striker spring weights, I’ve seen too many light strikes to put any faith in them.

Just the half pound drop over stock makes an amazing difference to me.

Stay safe.
