Five knives that helped win WWII.

I would dare say the various Utility and Jacks did more for the GI than any fighting blade.

The Case fixed blade was issued to my maternal Grandpa (United States Army Air Corps, Pacific, with three battle stars to his credit).

It saw use as a general camp knife, pry bar, and toy.Throwing knives was a pastime on the flight line waiting for their P-47s to come home, and a extra way to earn money :uhoh:. It is 1/2 " shorter than it used to be due to this playtime :)

tomorrow I will take a pic of the Strider fixed blade that is issued to the Air Force Special Operations Command's DAGRE teams Deployed Aircraft Ground Response Element students upon graduation.

rcmodel - if there´s ever a murder, where the detectives look for
a platoon of people, because the victim has like 48 different stab wounds,
this photo will be your doom :)

The Kabar on the top is a modern made Kabar, by Kabar.

It is next to a WWII Navy issued Kabar.

The knife was purchased from a woman in Boston. Her Dad, was offshore in the Navy during WWII, with this knife.

Yeah, they are out there, just takes a little looking.

However, it's not "just an old Navy Dive Knife". It's the last weapon in my self defense nightstand cache.

An interesting point about the "old military dive knife" USN Mk3 MOD O is that they are almost completely non-magnetic.

Magnetically fused mines and magnetic dive knives don't play well together I guess.

Mine came from the New London CT Navy dive school after it was closed down.

It was in a box of junk bought at the surplus sale along with several others.

Most all of them had the needle sharp points broken off, as almost all will have, if ever used by real divers.

Why they ever designed a dive knife with a fine tiny point like that is beyond me????

Yep, mine was new and pristine when I got it, I've kept it that way, except for sharpening the top and bottom blade edges. That one's never seen water, and prob never will. Lucked up on it down in Fla several years back.

Now that I think about it, I really don't see that many of them.
