Millet Sights?

I only have one encounter with Millett.

Bought their 1" red dot for my CZ Kadet. Long story short, the glass was off center or something and caused a double image. I sent it back, they acknowledged the problem and gave me a new one.

Still not perfect, but it works well enough.

Bought a Millet Red Dot sight from Midway USA. It was defective - battery connection was intermittent. Returned it for credit. Burn me once shame on you - burn me twice shame on me.

In other words I'm not real impressed with millet.

I've had excellent results with Nikon gun scopes, cameras, and lenses. I hear good things about Leupold too.

Comment about the iron is dead on......top quality. Far as the glass goes, well anyone and any company can have a problem....Millet treated me more than right on a defective 3X9 Gold and replaced it immediately.....unfortunately the replacement had a cosmetic...not an operational defect and when I called them on it they had no more of that model in stock and sent me an upgraded 4-16.............super prompt and super courteous.

I would have no problem doing business with them again.

Wow, that alone would be enough for me to consider them.

Replacing with a better model, when an apple for apple swap was unavailable, was something better companies were known to do.

I've used Millet sights and mounts on several guns and never had a problem. I've had one of the SP red dots on an M1a for the last few years. The rifle hasn't been able to break it yet and M1a's like to break glass. Set up two SKS's with the Millet mount and red dot. Both are still working great.

This new one looks like a winner to me.

Bushnell did this for me earlier this year. I sent a scope in that had a mechanical flaw but they lost my scope. After waiting about a month for them to find my scope they said they'd send a new scope... but one wasn't to be available for 4-6 weeks. I asked for other options. They asked if I'd be interested in any of their other scopes. I said that I'd really been looking at a better model (and - it was one grade up) for another rifle and that I'd pay the difference. After looking at the difference in their price, he said, "Let's just call it even since you've been so patient with us." They sent it out that day. A beautiful Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x50. I had sent in an Elite 3200 5-15x40 which, as far as what I could buy them for.... there was a $125 difference. I've purchased 3 Bushnell scopes since and love them all.

A really great company!

I really like this one: http://www.millettsights.com/controller.php/cat09/dms_reddot

At 1X its true 1X so can have both eyes open, at 4X its great for those longer shots. I find anything more than 4X is only useful off a rest.

I got a bad one, Midway exchanged it and even credited my account for the postage I paid shipping it back to them.

I've got one on my 7.62x39 AR, RRA LAR-308, and MSAR. Adding one this weekend to my 16" AR bull barrel flattop and M1A.

Best all around optic overall for the type of shooting I do -- 1X red dot for fast action, 4X for slow aimed fire. Its not perfect, exit pupil could be larger and the eye relief a bit more forgiving.

I think they could make it smaller and lighter if they made it simply switch between 1X and 4X instead of zoom, as I don't see much point in the magnifications in between.

I've the opposite opinion of their iron sights. The fronts are OK but I prefer the fiber optic inserts from Dawson or Novak's for HiViz, but the rears I find too distracting -- I prefer plain matte black for the rear as you should be focusing on the front sight, stuff on the rear sight makes it too easy to look there instead.

I have a Millet red dot on one of my Ruger MK II pistols. I don't always treat them with the respect they need. I have not been able to damage it at all regardless of the abuse I give it. That alone is worthy of a repeat purchase. The B Square mount, on the other hand has needed replacing twice so far!!:banghead:
