Million Mom March liars?

The whole thing was a fraud. Its "founder," far from being the ordinary mom she would have us believe on the news shows, was:

Donna Dees-Thomases was also a professional publicist who was:

a former Capitol Hill staff member for two Democratic Senators (Senator Bennett Johnston (D-LA) and Senator Russell Long (D-LA))
a former Manager of Communications for CBS News in New York
a former professional public relations specialist for Dan Rather at CBS News who oversaw his "Campaign '88" press coverage
a sister-in-law of Susan Thomases, Hillary Clinton's political adviser and close friend
There's more.

I always called it the MMMMMM (Millions of Misguided, Misinformed and Manipulated Marching Moms). ;)

Hmm. The "Mothers Against Guns" over here are almost as bad. Their leader, Lucy Cope, had a son who was shot by what they claim was either a "converted airgun", or a "converted replica gun", depending on what they want to ban at the time.

According to an ex-ARU member on another forum, the weapon in question was an illegal Section 5 blank firer, made illegal because they were so easy to convert to a live-fire gun (IIRC).

I think that group is defunct over in the UK. I remember seeing one of their promotional videos and it showed a bunch of young kids with an older kid handing them all handguns and they ran into the woods and started shooting each other. The end of the video shows a young girl behind a boy asking "can I play?" and he responds "no go away" as he turns his head, he gets shot and lays on the ground while the girl looks at him horrified. After that the message states "Help us with a complete ban on replica firearms" and something along the lines of replica guns like airsoft guns being converted and deactivated guns being reactivated. I can't find the video anymore but it was rediculous.

I think it was called "Toys That Kill"

Ah I found the stupid video

That's the one where the "Mothers Against Guns" group tried to get replica firearms banned in the UK. Probably an offshoot of the brady campaign or million mom march, anyone know what happened to this group? Their site hasn't worked for almost a year now.
