While heading home this afternoon, I was pulling up to a stopped line of traffic. As I did so, I saw a large Pink RV attempting to exit a gas station and join the line of traffic. Being the considerate soul that I am, I stopped short and left a gap for the RV to pull out into. The fairly attractive woman driving waved and pulled out.

It wasn't until the large Pink RV was immediately in front of me that I took a second to read the name on the RV and the slogans plastered all over it. I had just let a Million Mom March mobile RV unit pull out in front of me. Aaaaaaahhh.

I figured they were in the neighborhood to set up shop at the Community Festival taking place this weekend in the large park down the street.

Now, I'm wondering how I can show my opposition to their presence/views if they have in fact set up a tent at the festival. I haven't gone yet to see if they are at there, but will tomorrow.

Any suggestions for me if I should see their tent tomorrow? Should I take the opportunity to "strike a blow" for 2A rights, or, should I just ignore them and instead go to the gunshow in Dayton?

Go to the gunshow and buy lots of evil looking toys. Then open carry at the two tenths of 1% of a Million Commie Mommies tent.

Good idea, DMK. I like it. Maybe I'll go to the show, get an NRA sticker or some such and misplace it on the wrong bumper.

As for the open carry idea, that had crossed my mind. Believe me, it crossed my mind. But with all of the police crawling all over the park during the festival, I will almost assuredly get hassled, if not arrested (even though open carry is perfectly legal here in Ohio). I'm not sure I want my first arrest and night in the pokey just to piss of the Million Morons.

i hear they gladly take 25 pound donations of bovine garden enhanser.
Brady/VPC has been spreading it pretty thick of late.

Guys, this is the HIGH ROAD, be good.

I think that the best thing to do would be to ask them questions they can't answer without really thinking or having to lie. Believe it or not, most antis HATE that. Works great for me every time, and I've even changed a few people.

I found the following at guns.connect.fi and thought maybe I'd run off copies and stand right next to their tent handing it out. (assuming they are there tomorrow). (Hmmm, wonder if I can get in trouble for hand-billing in a public city park without a permit(?)).

"Are you considering backing gun control laws??? Do you think that because you may not own a gun, the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment don't matter?

CONSIDER THIS...

In 1929 the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915-1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill, and others, who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million "educated" people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

That places total victims who lost their lives because of gun control at approximately 56 million in the last century.

Since we should learn from the mistakes of history, the next time someone talks in favor of gun control, find out which group of citizens they wish to have exterminated.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed, a program costing the government more than 500 million dollars. The results Australia-wide; Homicides are up 3.2%, Assaults are up 8 %, and Armed robberies are up 44% In that country's state of Victoria, homicides with firearms are up 300%.

Over the previous 25 years, figures show a steady decrease in armed robberies and Australian politicians are on the spot and at a loss to explain how no improvement in "safety" has been observed after such monumental effort and expense was successfully expended in "ridding society of guns." It's time to state it plainly: Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws only affect the law-abiding citizens. Take action before it's too late: Write or call your delegation."

I know you guys are just joking, but it is not funny.

Edit: What I meant is some people may think you are serious about what you are talking about. Some of it is funny.

Please don't put an NRA sticker on it. It reflects poorly on us as a community. I'd put PETA stickers on it instead. Kidding. Except in the english language, two wrongs don't make a right.

Whether it's found funny or not, I personally like the idea of misplacing an NRA sticker on the wrong bumper...:)

I wouldn't put anything on their vehicle, but somewhere around here I have those little "I'm not armed" signs on a stick, which would be pretty funny if stuck around the area of their vehicle.

I like the idea of talking to them the best, though. Their arguments are indefensible and it's pretty easy to show it.

1. Go over to The Gun Zone, get the list of positions and then ask the persons each of the questions, carefully record their answers.

2. Ask "Are you a volunteer?" "Are you paid?" "Are you getting per diem, how much?" and carefully record the answers.

3. Be polite and write carfully, printing the answers and then ask the lady to review, initial and sign the result.

Wear a local radio station or newpaper baseball cap.
Dress like a writer "Clean shirt, bush jacket, camera etc.
Smile alot. (It helps if the person is cute.)

With luck you'll find a stupid Democrat and get a lewinsky.

Million Moms

Howdy guys,

I've met a few of the Million Mom Members...even invited two of'em
in for coffee while I listened to their appeal for support. They're actually
doing what they believe to be a service to the community, and all that I have talked to have been very nice... I have seen none of the
"In your face" militant attitudes. They are genuinely concerned, if a bit
misguided.

I don't think that trying to educate them to the realities will work. They
are, for the most part, unwaveringly convinced that a handgun ban will have a real impact on "Gun Violence"...and that trying to convince them
that it's a behavorial issue rather than a technological one is a waste of
time. Their minds are made up.

We parted on good terms that day...even after I explained that I was a gun owner and active NRA/RKBA supporter. One of them remarked that I
didn't seem to fit the stereotypical gun owner, and that she was very
pleasantly surprised by that fact. She seemed a bit shaken when I informed her that practically everybody in the area were of the same ilk. She just couldn't believe that there would be that many guns in such a nice, pleasant area. "And nobody has been shot???" she asked,
wide-eyed. "No gunfights?? No children have been hurt???"

"No ma'am... We're all pretty much a peaceful bunch, and most of the kids around here have their own guns. We just don't let'em take'em out unless
they're supervised." (Wish I'd had a camera when her jaw dropped open)

Fight the good fight!

Time and Money

"They must have a lot of time and money to be riding around the country pushing their cause."

Yeah...Well, I guess they get bored with tupperware parties and the bridge clubs and runnin' down to the spas and spendin' their husbands'
money at the malls while the kids are with the nanny or in day care...Sooner or later, they'll latch onto a cause. Idle
hands are the devil's workshop ya know...

Tuner<-----------dons firesuit and finds cover.:D

I'd put PETA stickers on it instead. Kidding.

Still, there is a kernel of truth in that – Painting them as radical nut-jobs *does* diminish their credibility with the public. However, PETA doesn't quite cut it....

Something from Greenpeace or the Socialist Worker's Party would a little closer to the desired effect...

Does Queer Nation or NAMBLA have any bumper stickers?
