About all I can contribute here is this--
The muzzle is not your friend. It doesn't matter how shiny or pretty it is. Staring at it instead of the bird will not put food on the table. Nearly every missed bird I've had in the last couple of years had one thing in common--I saw the muzzle and the bead, not the bird. On the days I was "hot", I never saw the muzzle and doves seemed to rain from the sky as fast as I could reload and fire.
