I'm still getting used to my new factory tactical Mini-14, and there is something I've noticed about my brass ejections. Without any change of the gas port bushing, this new Mini-14 ejects casings only about 8-10 feet. My other Mini's toss brass about the same distance, but only after installing reduced size bushings. I've heard that Ruger has changed the diameter of the orifice on the underside of the barrel, and that a different size gas port bushing is also coming with these newer rifles. I haven't torn into the gas block yet, as I'm pleased with both the accuracy and shorter ejections of this rifle. Anyone done some research on this?
