Mini-14 stuff

I bought a Mini-14 a couple months back (182 series) and it came with a scope mount that replaced the rear sight. I wondering if it is possible to order a new rear sight assembly to swap out the scope mount. Also, are there any compaines who make an upper handguard with a rail?

You should be able to order a rear sight from either Ruger or The Gun's Parts Corp. If your intention is to mount a scope on your rifle, I wouldn't waste the time or money. Mine is really not super accurate, 2 to 3 inch groups at 100 yards at best, but it does make a wonderful short range rifle. I have had mine since 1984 and will never part with it.

I have four that I got in 1977 and they are great shooters using open sights. We have the best of times shooting. They are not sniper rifles
