I'm trying to find a small centerline revolver that's like the 1873.

Like a centerfire Ruger Wrangler Birdshead.

38 special or 32 S&W (long or short).

Ruger Bearcat 32...

The Uberti Stallion Okd West Defense is the closest I've seen. It's still basically 1873 size though.

Anything you know of that fits that description?

Thanks.
Frank

Somebody, several years ago, was converting Ruger Single Sixes to shoot 32 H&R, but for the life of me I can't think of who it was. I think Ruger may have even made a few in that caliber also (Buckeye special maybe?). Other than those, I can't think of any other "small frame" single actions that aren't rimfires.

Edited to add: Cimarron makes the Model P Junior, which is a scaled down SAA in 32 and 38 if I remember correctly. I forgot about them in my original post.

Yeah, one of the Italian makers offered a 38 special SAA on a slightly smaller frame. I think the one I kept looking at had a bird's head grip and a 3.5" barrel.

Armin San Marco. We've got a 9mm one in the case. It's probably about the size of the Cimmarron; a little smaller than an SAA, but probably not as much as FHBrumb is looking for.

Definitely going to poke around that idea. Not super small like a Bearcat, but getting pretty close.

You said ish…

Well. Uhhh. I don't hate that. A little shorter barrel, and that's pretty cool!!!

Cimarron offers the Stallion as both a .22 r.f. and .32 H&R. Some have stated it is not much smaller than the furl sixe Model P. But I have a .22, which I understand is the same a size as the .32 and it is noticeably small amd morwe petite in the hand. In fact, I'm on the verge of ordering one from Uberti or Cimarron. Only thing smaller would be a Bearcat and converted to .32 c.f.

The Model P and Model P Jr have the same grip frame, but the rest is smaller.

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong gun?

Incidentally, here are my .22s. The Uberti frame is about the same size as the Single Six, but its Colt profile grip makes it feel more petite in the hand:

Also, the slimmer topstrap of the Umberti makes it seem smaller as well.

It's significantly smaller than the SAA/Navy or Army frame. If you wanted to you could cut the barrel down. You can get an idea of the size here.

That's pretty neat. A three inch would be pretty cool. Just gotta get the writing blended out...

It seems like the grip is the only difference in the Model P Jr and the Stallion OWD.

Between those, I think I'd do the birdshead...

I have the Model P Jr. in 38spl. It is smaller than a SAA. It's about the same size as a single six. They make a convertible JR in 32H&R/ 32-20 as well. Single 7 or Single 6 in 32H&R would also fit the bill. I own those as well.

About the smallest cartridge-fed western SA reproduction you're going to find is an 1873 birds head 3-1/2" barrel. Taylors offers one in 9mm, .38 Spl., .357M and .45C. If you want a percussion revolver, maybe somebody makes a reproduction 1843 Pocket revolver. Clint Eastwood carried one as a BUG in Outlaw Josey Wales.
