LGS posted this gem online along with some others that had recently wandered into the shop. Looked intriguing to me with the fabled one-line “address” on the frame, the “stepped” tapered barrel (I don’t know what the official term is for that older-school approach S&W was taking in the 1930s or so, but you know what I mean), and the diamond Magna stocks.

Might those Magnas be serial-numbered to the gun? What’s the action like? Any rustiness lurking about? And what are they asking for it?

I was intending to stop by tomorrow to check it out as that would be the first time I had available to do so. Perhaps the shop didn’t know what they might have there and had a low price on it and / or maybe other customers would have written the gun off as “too old.”

Unable to resist, I called the shop to get the scoop on the arm and as soon as the guy on the phone started referring to the gun in the past tense, I knew I was wrong on all counts - it was gone, and had been priced at what I felt was a still-not-bad nine bills.

It’s for the best. It really is. I had zero business trolling for a gun-buy right now. I’m going to console myself by wiping-down my other wheelguns.

😂

That’s a sharp looking revolver. I have always thought it would be cool to have one. I always hear about them after they’re gone or the price is way too high for me to even consider.

Hmmm…I think Murphy is your guardian angel as well as mine. It is good to know he isn’t solely concentrating on my behalf. 😆
