I am planning on getting some of these hard cast .358s for my .357 mag and my .38.

Does anyone use this bullet? I am looking for some favorite loads for a 4 inch .357, and a 2 inch .38 special.

I am looking for hotter loads, not necessarily hottest, but somewhat warm loads; but if you have some milder loads, I would appreciate those as well.
Thanks.

You have to figure what each gun likes, or everyone would be shooting the same load. As a guess you could try Unique in a fairly hot load and maybe some Bullseye for light loads.

14.0gr to 14.5gr 2400 under that bullet in a .357 Magnum case makes for a fairly hot round. As for hot .38 Specials, I use HS-6 for my FBI Replica loads. You can also use AA#5 for the same replica loads.

In .357 mag with the 180g striker, 1.585 OAL and WSPM primer. Both were shot from a S&W 27 with a 8 3/8" bbl

11.4g Accurate #9 = 1262fps

13.8g Win 296 = 1245fps

I haven't tried that bullet in 38 spl

Is this for hunting or target practice?

For killing paper, 158 grain bullets are more popular and you'll probably get more responses on that weight bullet. I load those with anything from 13.5-15 grains of 2400 depending on the gun. My 92 isn't all that accurate over 13.5.

I am not ruling out either hunting or target practice, but since I can not legally hunt with lead ammunition here, it will be mostly target practice, but I want to practice with loads that feel like a real magnum. I am also getting some of those 158 grain semi-wadcutters as well. (I might hunt with them, the 180s, but in South Dakota)
