Generally with AR15s you can mix and match uppers and lowers ... a RRA upper on a Bushmaster Lower, a Colt upper on a DPMS lower, etc.

Can you mix and match AR10 uppers and lowers?

I like the Bushmaster lower because it takes FAL mags, but what if I prefered a DPMS upper?

The BAR-10 has a longer receiver than the AR-10. I believe the SR-25 and the AR-10 are very close, but I do not know if they are compatible.

Never handled the DPMS so I cannot help you there.

You've asked a very good question.
I think the uppers would have to be from the same mfg. in the case of the AR10's.
My ArmaLite lower will accept the new .300 RSAUM upper by ArmaLite. That'd be a great 'extra' to have around!

Anyone else confirm the 'mfg. specific' interchangability of AR10 upper/lowers?

The bushy 308 is definitely an animal all its own. The way the bolt stop/ magwell is designed takes up room in the middle of the receiver. I have never had an SR25, Armalite, or DPMS to compare, but I know from other pics on the web that the bushy is longer.
