(KSDK)-- Detectives in St. Louis have linked an early morning homicide to 2 other carjacking attempts, and another set of carjackings left one man injured when he was shot in the face.

Around 12:30 this morning, south of Tower Grove Park, 39 year old Louis Bishop was shot and killed.

Later, at least 4 other carjacking attempts were reported. A family traveling in a Dodge Durango was forced off Interstate 70. The Durango had Colorado license plates. They managed to escape, but not until after a man in the passenger side was shot. He is expected to survive.

Police Chief Joe Mokwa says there were also attempted carjackings at Grand & Hickory, on Broadway, and on Washington.

Police are forming a task force. One person is in custody.

This ???? pisses me off SO much. A guy walking at night with his wife, shot in the face. Some family from CO driving through and the dad gets shot in the face. We need a bunch of bystanders to come out shooting next time this happens. Kill every bastard involved. When the cops get there, 'no one saw ????.' I'm so sick of this.

Who knows, but it couldnt hurt to have this story included in a letter. I dont know how people can see this crap (that you cant take a walk at night, or even drive through our fine city on highway 70, without getting shot) and not see that CCW is needed.

I am reminded of a county meeting I attended concerning improvements to the airport I flew out of at the time. An anti-airport person sat in front of me and said "why can't they see.....". Remember many of the anti-2nd people say the same thing "why can't they see that if only the police and military were the ones that had guns....". They won't understand until it actually reaches out and touches them that there is a reason for CCW.

I sincerely hope Missouri's elected representatives will do the right thing and override the governor's veto. There's no justification for preventing law-abiding American citizens from keeping and bearing arms.
