Can the Rem Mod 700 SA bolt be made to work with the 22 Hornet?
The Model 70 used a magazine within the magazine well. No special work was required on the receiver rails.magazine would probably have to be blocked off.
The Ruger and the CZ , that I had , both fed flawlessly. If you limit yourself to a single shot, I'm sure it's do-able with enough effort. I see the main problem as adapting a magazine to work reliably. My understanding is that the Hornets isn't very cooperative with box magazines.
I own 3 .22 Hornets, but they're all single shots.

I have several 22 Hornets. All by Savage or Stevens. I can cover 4 shots at 100 yards with a dime. New powder, New bullets and one trick make it possible. I am averaging 2986fps with a Nosler 40 gr Ballistic tip. I dumped a 50 lb note at 152 steps the other night. It is deadly.Winchester did it with the pre 64 model 70, so, it is possible. CZ , Anschutz, Ruger , Browning and others have done it also. However these were smaller actions for rimmed cartridges to start with.
As has been pointed the bolt is the first issue. Probably not a huge one.
Even a short action 700 hundred is too long and the magazine would probably have to be blocked off. Getting a rimmed cartridge to feed in a bolt can be problematic. I don’t think the 700 was ever chambered for one. You may end up with a single shot.
I always found the hornet a finicky little bugger to load for and never got the accuracy I wanted out of any of mine. Brass is getting hard to find and often neck splits after 3 or4 loadings. You may want to take that into consideration.
However, if you have the money and time, go for it. You would be the only kid on the block to have one and that is worth a lot.
