I have a Winchester Model 12 in 20 gauge. It used to be a 28"bbl modified choke. The barrel is plain. I need to put a bead on it and square up the crown. The bbl is very thin this area(it was cut off at 23.5". Is there a bead available(in my mind Im thinking a ramped bead like on the A5. I guess what I think the problem is is that the bbl is too thin to drill AND tap. Im thinking drilled and a bead glued in or skip the drilling and glue on a ramped bead of some sort after squaring the bore. Any advice?

Thanks Jim thats exactly what I was looking for. There is a product from loc-tite that Ive read about that one can use in leu of silver soldering. From what I understand It holds up just as well and is easier to use.

Thanks again.

yeah...I dont know. Maybe red...Im still looking for the article I saw it in. When I find it ill post it.

Call me Cletus, but I would think careful application of some jb weld would do the trick...no?

IMHO, JBWeld won't hold. Shotgun beads are usually screwed in; there aren't many threads, but 1-2 is enough.

This is the only thing I recall seeing in the Brownell's catalog. I've never used it. John
