As some of you already know the windage adjustment screw of my Model 41 sights was frozen & would not move. Today I finally got it to move right & left. I want to thank all those that helped me get it done. I tried a number of things and I don't know if one or a combination of all did the job.
First I soaked the sights in acetone mixed with automatic transmission fluid, then applied heat with a hair dryer, then back in the mix again. Did this for two days. Nothing happened.
Then I tried mineral spirits and auto trans. fluid for another day or two. Still nothing.
Then sprayed Liquid Wrench & left it over night. Nothing.
Then again with the Liquid Wrench a second day & finally it moved.
Its still a little hard to move compared to my elevation adjustment but the screw was slightly damaged so I'm going to continue with the Liquid Wrench treatments for a few more days before I expect smooth operation.
Thanks again to all that helped.
