Can anyone determine the year a Winchester Model 70 with the serial number 45743 was manufactured?

This rifle is for sale at a gun shop with a Lyman Alaskan scope attached.

What are they asking for that M70 Double D?

Curious as I have one with somewhat similar number. I love the old M70s.

I kind of like the new ones too come to think of it.

$1200.00 with the Lyman Alaskan scope. Would this be high for a 41/42Winchester Model 70 with the scope?

The dealer said he would sell it for $900.00 without the scope.

Depends a lot on the caliber.

The rifle is chambered for .30-06. Sorry for not supplying this information earlier.

If the gun is in original shape, ie, no recoil pad etc, etc, and in NRA 98%, it's probably a fair asking price with that scope. If there's major scratches, white metal, a recoil pad, missing the rear sight & front sight hood, then I'd say they are high.
