I've ordered a Kahr CW45 (no one around here has one in stock yet, but its promised in the next few weeks).
I would appreciate advice on my planned modification.
I find the grip length unnecessarily long for concealed carry.
I plan on shortening the grip to accept 5 round PM45 magazines.
I don't really care about the reduced value etc. But want a smaller
.45 that I will actually carry most of the time. Can't see chopping up a
nice kahr, but the CW looks like a good candidate for this mod., and its a LOT
less expensive than the smaller versions.
Will this work???

You could probably just cut the bottom of the grip off with a band saw or something. Feed it in slowly so it doesn't melt and leave large globs of plastic, then sand or file off any burrs.

Were it mine, I would have simply bought a PM45 myself, but that's just me.

There are some other people who have done this with 9's and 40's--the Kahr P9 Covert was a P9 that Kahr chopped down to the PM9 grip length, so it's not a new idea. Get someone with calipers to take measurements for you on a PM45, and go at it bit-by-bit until you get the perfect fit. Check out the Glocktalk Kahr sub-forum to see how other people have done it.

Then, come here and post pics :)
