Just wanted to say congrats Larry!

Still waiting on it to get here but I can tell from the stuff I have heard and the first chapter it's a damn good book, much deserved getting a major publisher to pick you up.

Two updates.

Contract has been signed and sent back to Large Unnamed Publishing House. My self published verision of MHI has been discontinued, so what's out there, is out there, for probably about 6 months.

2nd, pick up a copy of this week's Entertainment Weekly. (Tina Fey is on the cover). On page 69 is the best seller list from Uncle Hugos Science Fiction & Fantasy bookstore. I'm #3.

I just wanted to say thanks. Seriously, I couldn't have done it without you guys having my back, taking a chance on a self-published hack wannabe, and then taking the time to post reviews and tell your friends.

.chese, I don't know if my signature would be worth all that postage! :)

G36, so far the title is really creative. MHI:2.

I fully expect that in 30 years or so my son will be browsing my bookshelves and exclaim "Dad! Is this a real first edition MHI signed by the Larry Correia!?":D

I got mine at home...

...and my wife finally shipped it here, and I read it, and of course loved it, and here is what makes my commander pull out his hair:

So how about e-book releases so I can look like I'm taking notes on my PDA during long boring meetings?

Monster Hunter Interdimensional? :D That's awesome.

E-books will be decided by the Yet Unnamed Large Publishing House, but they are well known for their e-books.

I was thinking something like:

Monster Hunter International 2: BLOOD STORM: The bloodening... :p

And MHI in Iraq? Too friggin' cool. I've actually gotten a bunch of e-mails from guys deployed. Apparently MHI is making the rounds of some units. I keep getting complimented about how if monsters were real, that's how these guys would kill them. See, by actually using mortars to hunt vampires, I'm a trendsetter. :)

My unit's current SOP for monsters is: Volume Equals Victory. Using the principles of VEV, we can achieve fire superiority and disallow the creatures the freedom of movement they require to operate in our AO. This type of area denial has worked well for years, and will be our go-to plan whenever the creatures are found to be present.
Of course, I have 132,000 of my closest friends here, and they have some very cool equipment.

We haven't worked out a solution to the flying stone gargoyles yet, but for now, this works: My office:

It's like a giant steel umbrella over the base. No casualties from indirect fire here since we brought these in. (Not in the protected areas, anyway. I can't shoot the ones that fall where the gun doesn't cover.) Think it will work on the gargoyles?

Larry, I got one of the last few that were available on Amazon. Worth every penny and then some!!!!

I gotta say, the whole redneck Elves thing was one of the funniest things I've ever read. That and the fact that Skippy and the rest of the orcs painted the white hand on their helmets! I don't know whether Tolkien would be spinning in his grave or laughing his butt off!

One (incredibly minor) thing that I caught and bugged the heck out of me, was a single spelling error. Pg. 321 in the self published version, while they're wandering the swamp. They're leeches, not leaches. (Dunno if someone else has already pointed that out or not, didn't wade through all 8 pages of comments in this thread.)

Steveracer: Wait, are you saying you guys shoot mortars out of the air!?!?!

Now that is some hardcore skeet action. Has anyone told SM yet?

Correia: 57th'd, by the way. I want part two, and I want it bad. :D Also, I would buy a book copy of Nightcrawler Trilogy.
