Morakniv Factory Tour

Thanks for sharing that, it was very informative. 25,000 knives a day is a lot of Mora knives. I guess I've done my part to help keep them busy.

Well, now I know how Mora manages to produce such a good product at such a low price, there are almost no humans involved in the process.

Wonder how many jobs they eliminated with all those robots?

If they are anything like us, few want to do those repetitive, tedious tasks these days. When you saw the guys honing blades on those huge grindstones did you wish you could do that?

Seems like everybody wants jobs but few want to work these days. Not directed at you or anyone else, just an observation from a cranky old guy that is reminded of that every time I get up from my chair.

I bet 5 machines could put a factory edge on 25K knives in one day.

Can't imagine how many people it would take and how many would want to do it for years on end.

I bet the people that work there have a lifetime supply of knives at home. Axel, would you like another knife for Fettisdagen? :)

That $15 Mora would cost $150.

It still takes people to design, build, and maintain the machines.

I thought it interesting to see all of the notches originally stamped into the handles. They were there to precisely hold the blades in the jigs used for the other machining steps then removed before attaching handles.
