What is the proper way to attach a basic, run of the mill, AR-15 nylon string w/two plastic adjustment buckles.
I've had my AR for a little over a year now and have never had a use for the sling that came with it as I have only used it for target shooting, not hunting or anything where I would need to hoof around with it for some time. I basically tossed the sling off to the side shortly after purchasing the rifle.
I was organizing my gun stuff tonight and decided I might as well go ahead and attach the sling. Low and behold I couldn't figure out the proper way to attach it. I tried several permutations of attaching the sling to the rifle w/no success at getting it to properly hold "tension" while still being able to adjust the length - i.e. a back-pack. Feeling like a retard, I searched around the net for awhile and couldn't find any details as to how the sling is supposed to be attached.
I'm sure one of you out there will be able to fill me in. Once again its just a plain black nylon strap w/two plastic buckles that came w/the rifle - no fancy 3-point or anything like that...
