I have an ATI stock on my sporterized 91/30, but I've been wanting to go to a wood stock. The only sources I have found are Boyd's and Richards precision. I know Bishop used to make 'em, and there are probably others, but my Google-Foo has been no good. Can anyone help with some useful links?

Thanks.

Bishop was bought out by Reinhart Fajen years ago.

Then Reinhart Fajen was bought out by Midway USA some time back.

Midway still uses the Fajen name on a few 10/22 stocks, but they no longer produce a full line of military sporter stocks.

Other then boyd's & RP, and a bunch of plastic stocks, I don't know what to tell you.

great american inlets their classic and european classic patterns for the mosin.
they are both the gary goudy style but the european classic has an oval cheek piece

I have a friend that has a stock duplicating machine and I know he used to make sporter's for mosin's. He can duplicate any gunstock with the wood of your choice.

My experience is that the ATI stocks are much less accurate than the original military stock, so I take them off and throw them away.
The ATI screw a bolt handle I will not mess with.
But the ATI scope mount, by itself, is a good deal.

The Boyd's stock is good.

Thanks guys, I'll probably go with the Boyd's stock for this one. I've cut it to 22" and added a Remington 700 bolt handle and Williams peep sights ( live near Williams, and it's great to be able to run out there and discuss things with the gunsmith, though being a retired Journeyman toolmaker, I have the equipment to do everything myself at home). The ATI stock, however, is heavy and the forend is flexible enough that I think it touches the barrel when shooting. But I plan to make a full-stock carbine in the future, and will have to go with the Richards stock. I really am torn over whether to get a really great piece of wood or a medium-fancy piece for that one. It will get a quarter rib and three leaf express sight setup, a Timney trigger and a butterknife bolt handle. I will build it from a Finn rifle.

i wonder if the barrel channel is wide enough for one of those reprofiled uk 59 barrels, and if it is then i think ima start my mosin build :)

I used a Boyds on Mine and very hapy with it! My barrel is cut to 24".
