Ok, so far my 500 has performed without a hitch for many years. It has 3 barrels thus far, the 28" accu-choke, 18.5" slug, and a rifled ported cantilever slug for whitetail. All are factory Mossberg barrels, and like I said, nary a hitch.
I've been debating on getting started in black powder, and figured why not try out one of the in-line 209 primer barrels for the 500. I've read the manual online for the operation of the barrel, and it seems like a decent setup. Has anyone used one of these on their 500? How bad was clean-up? Any issues? Would you suggest it to a new black powder shooter, or not and if so why?
