RX178 please don't try to convince me that 50 yds the laser MIGHT be good for is likely HD scenario as the OP asked about.

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. The OP mentioned lasers, and I'm trying to share my knowledge of this subject.

Quality lasers are very expensive, and you still have to practice on them just like you'd have to practice on iron sights, on red dot optics, on rifle scopes, or whatever you're using to aim at your target.

I'm not trying to say that $200 or more for an aiming accessory is worth the money. That's not for me to decide.

I personally do use a laser on my HD shotgun. And on my CCW handgun. I also happen to work for a company that makes and imports lasers. I am quite familiar with what you can and can't do with a laser mounted on a weapon.

You have to get used to spotting the laser dot, and if you're familiar with the iron sights, you'll probably be slower getting on target with the laser until you get used to finding the dot. Once you get used to finding the dot, you get the advantage of being able to accurately aim the weapon from more awkward positions, and in many cases be able to make more effective use of cover and cocnealment. You decide if it's worth the $200+ and the effort of re-training yourself to use the laser.

Once again thanks for input everyone! So the current plan now is to find a surefire foregrip to try out, then go stock shopping.(both grips will be replaced) I'm leaning towards the Knoxx stock, but I'll see if I can find the Hogue stock and see how it compares. If I don't get the SF foregrip I'll still be going with an SF light. Then I'll be going back to the range for some testing.

I've decided to put the laser on hold for now so I can invest in a better light. I appreciate the info on lasers though; I'll be a bit more informed when/if it comes time to buy. Again thanks everybody!
