Mossberg 500 price.

I'm new to shotguns.
A hardware/gunshop near me has a Mossberg 500 w/rifled slug barrel. Receiver in front of feed opening is marked 500A.
No upper screw holes for scope mount.
Barrel has iron sights, sights are not fiber optic.
Finish is good. Looks and cycles like everything is mechanically sound. Wood furniture.
Price is $175.
How does the price sound for this used shotgun?
Same store also has used and new barrels. Used barrels seem to be half price of the new ones.

$175 is about what 500's like the one you described are going for around here. If I were looking for a good pump action slug gun I would seriously consider getting it. If I could get it for $150-165 out the door then I would not hesitate getting it.

Decent price. The rifling means it's for slugs only.

Going ahead and buying it.
The 500 is being held by the store until the yellow form clears. The store had a rash of form delays that afternoon.
