A bunch of us were and I had mine on back order for weeks, I said screw it and stay with the choked 22" barrel on the wife's moss; and canceled the order.
One day somewhere I will fall over flat on my face after tripping over a 18 slug barrel from Moss and I will whip that money out on the spot. But not until then.
I haunted the gun shops and pawn shops until I found a take off 500 barrel full choke and had a machinist friend do it to the configuration I wanted. Cost me $35.00 and a box of handloads using his brass.
Picked up an older Mossberg 500 ATP at a gunshow Saturday. Came with 2 barrels, both 18.5". One had been cut down from a 28" modified cylinder barrel and had been rifled, apparently by bubba as it was crudely done and wavy for the first couple of inches past the chamber. The other didn't have a length stamped on it, but it had a variable choke silver soldered on the muzzle end.
I have no idea how, or by whom that one barrel was rifled.
