Hi everyone, I've got a 590 that's always run like clockwork (gave him a workout today at the range, speaking of :) )

Anyhow, I recently replaced the magazine spring with a Wolff spring.

Now, every once in a while when loading a tube full of those Federal Hydra Shok slugs, I have a little difficulty inserting the 8th round completely in.

It will clear the elevator and stay in place, but it feels as though maybe the follower is stuck on something, or maybe something else is in the way.

If I back the shell off and re insert it, it will go in.

Any ideas?

Hmmm, nobody care to chime in?

I think it might be a problem with the slugs, as it doesn't happen with remington buckshot.

Am I correct?

Yep, everything is super clean, and I'm pretty sure that my suspicions about the Federal "Hydra Shok" slugs are correct.

I got the spring from you, MAX100 :)

Make sure the ends of the spring are round and shape well. It sounds like the follower is giving a problem and a new follower might be a good idea. Vang makes a good stainless steel one. I would remove the spring retainer as well.
