After some concerns were raised about this rifles short 9 in sight radius with the factory Williams sights, I decided to dig through my box o' sights and voila, peep sights. Rear is a Keltec aluminum/steel rear sight and the front is a Tech Sight made for Marlin .22's. All simple clamp on/bolt on installation. Sight radius is now a lengthy 20 inches, over double the factory distance. The only thing I need to do is find a taller front post, the standard one is up as high as it will go and its just barely at zero. Windage adjustments in the rear, elevation in the front. Cant wait to try it out. Also, with a set of "high" rings, I can still easily attach a scope as well.:)

I'm looking into a sight base that will allow me to use the 10/22 front Tech sight, which is dovetailed. Just have to calculate the right height base.

Just ordered these, they should be about perfect: Tech Sight Item #TSR210 Front Dovetail sight and Marble's Front Sight Ramp .225" Height .375" Dovetail Slot for .687" Barrel Steel Blue . Cant wait to set it up, I'll chime back in when I get them installed. For now, I'll put the Marlin front Tech sight back on my Papoose.:)

Nice... I was going to say that Midway carries all different height sight ramps. Let us know how it works out when you get it all together and to the range.

I have a couple of the Kel Tec guns with those rear sights... one with the aperture and one with a pistol-type notch that came on a PLR-16... and have thought that they would make pretty slick backup sights on a hunting or scout rifle or something with the right paired front sight.

Howdy. It all actually worked quite well, however I sold the rifle to purchase a VEPR .308.:D The .225 riser was too tall, the next size down was about perfect.

Now that is awesome!
Congrats on the good old American ingenuity!!!!

If you can't find a taller sight post you can probably remove some material under the rear sight to make it work with more elevation!

Nice Job!

Was it a guess and check or is there math involved? Just ordered a generic rear peep sight for my marlin .22 and am sure I will have to rig up a taller sight for the front somehow. My plan so far is just to measure the height between the original and the new and add that difference to the front and go from there.
