LA....Lower Alabama, I think. The tinfoil confuses
Stopped by the LGS today, and I picked up a Mossberg MVP. I did not know a lot about it, but I liked the platform and the fell. I will use it as a bench gun mostly. So I have a few questions.
Any suggestions on a bipod?
What about a scope? Maybe the Nikon p-223
Will I regret this choice?

Did you get the Predator 18.5 or 20, or the Varmint 24 inch Barrel? I love mine, it is the Varmint Model, it shoots better than I do that is certain. Shooting surplus Lake City ammo it seems to like 55gr XM 193 better than 62gr Steel Core XM 855.
I have yet to choose a Bi-Pod, and have a BSA Sweet .223 on mine. The scope is pretty fair for the money but eventually I will upgrade it.

yes, but I won't any more it was useless, even I could tell it had a wandering zero, complete inconsistency even for a crappy shot like me. It was all over the target and sometimes not even remotely close to the target. Almost killed a poor little sparrow 14 inches high and 6 inches left of the bullseye and that was enough. Six rounds and the other 14 went into the round file behind me. That I hit with a swoosh and a clunk.:)

IMO, 3x-9x is a little on the low side as far as power goes for target shooting at 300 yards. It is good for hunting deer sized game, but not necessarily for shooting varmints or shooting for groups at that range.
