I have 30 firearms chambered in .22lr, is that excessive?:) I think the most in a centerfire caliber is 9x19 at 20. Also I have a .22mag convertible cylinder revolver with a cylinder in .22lr.
I think there are people on rimfirecentral that have way more .22lr's though.

Wow, Moon, you aren't doing too bad in the gun department.

Some of you guys really humble me about my collection of 13-14 guns!

Yeah but I'm poor now and I'm not married:) I think 12 .45acp handguns is getting excessive also, heck I even have 3x guns in 9mmLargo, a caliber that is rather obscure and that I have only 50 rounds in stock for.

I have around 30 guns.. I only have about 2 or 3 guns from the same caliber.. such as 9mm, 5.56mm 44-40, or 22lr ... but i have singles, like 45-120, 30-06 ..

I began snagging Mosin Nagant rifles when they first hit the US market after the fall of the Soviet Union. They were about $30 each at the time. I began buying them by the case at the time and saving the collectibles and selling the others off. Last count I have 42 or 43 7.62X54R rifles.

I'm considering selling the lot because it takes more time to maintain them than I can afford.

I like pistols. Only takes an hour to maintain a dozen .45s.

Guns ranked by caliber & numbers: 1st, 22LR; 2nd, 41 mag; 3rd, 357 mag; 4th, 40S&W; the rest are singles or doubles. The 22LR wins by a substantial margin (at least a lap)!

Added: I honestly don't think in "numbers" on anything other than 22's. If I can't count them on two hands, then it's "numbers". Last four firearms purchased were 22LR.

Many years ago I decided to collect 10mm's. I thought I could someday get them all since there weren't that many made. Still buying them. There were a lot more made then I thought when I started.

Probably got thirty or forty rifles in 7.62x54R, and probably twenty or thirty in 8mm.

I have 14 (that I can think of) in .22lr
and 5 in 30-06, as the two most of any single cal that I have. Of course I do have 2 boys who love to shoot and hunt, so that pretty much makes it maditory to have a least 3 in any single caliber!

I've got 4 in .22lr
Marlin Model 39
Ruger 10/22
Ruger Standard
Browning BL-22

Next up would be two in 12ga
JC Higgins Model 20 (which is a Sears brand on a High Standard Model 200)
Ithaca Model 37

15 guns in 45ACP 9 of those are 1911's
9 in 22LR
5 in 9MM
5 in 308
5 in 40S&W
5 in 7.62 x39
4 in 5.56
Then there are various other calibers and guns but those are the calibers with the highest numbers for me.

7 guns, each a differnt caliber. Well, you could say 3 are 30 caliber:
1 7.62X54
1 7.62X39
1 7.62X51
1 5.45X39
1 45acp
1 357 sig
1 9X18

I like different calibers, it keeps things more interesting, and expensive.

The most would be (6) in .45 Colt, plus a Contender barrel.
.22 LR would be next at (5)

let me see i do have 5 22's. then i have several 12 guages and then 4 .44s. but all others are all over the board in different calibers. If all you have is .22lr you really need to get out a little more.
