A vest, a giant belly and a big gun - what an archetype!

I was in the gun store and a gentlemen of similar belly size was buying some tactical shotgun to stop the angry horders of liquored up dudes from Houston who will come I-10 to his house to boff the missus after the next Hurricane.

Really was quite funny to listen to. That guy probably could serve as the family raft or food supply. Not that I'm slim.

Gem, don't let that guy fool you. He was buying the shotgun to protect his precious food supply in the wake of another hurricane. :)

if it is real it is the biggest most ridiculous round I have seen
It's a joke on all the big-bore Nazis, that don't think a bear could possibly go down to a round unless it's a Magnum... Davy Crockett and company wiped out many a bear without modern high-powered rifle rounds and super magnum handguns.
Besides, anything above .50 caliber (with certain exceptions) must be a registered destructive device... with a tax on each round, IIRC. Shotguns and the Nitro Express rounds are excepted.

No offense, but best run your Spy-ware scan, as I got 7 just going to that site..

Love my instant scan and remove spyware cookie cutter program:

Oh, yes, I saw that sometime last year and it still makes me laugh..

Check out this month's issue of Handgunner (I think it's Handgunner). There's an article in it with that gun and the author looks an awful lot like the shooter. If I'm not mistaken, that's J. D. Jones himself shooting a 1050 grain bullet from an Encore chambered in his new .577 JDJ.

Looks like a true one shot stopper, at least on the shooter! Looks like he went straight from a .30-30 in the Encore to the .600 Nitro. Must be some fantastic gunsmith (not!). Just because a guy can cobble some metal and wood together does not make him a "custom gunsmith."
