Mounting Gun Safe To Wooden Floor Help?

Not worth the effort. That safe is super simple to pry open with an ax or pry bar. And bolting to a floor joist requires very little effort to defeat with a skill saw or a reciprocating saw. May add 5 minutes and a little noise.

Would take a person with the right tools, which are probably laying in your garage, very short work to defeat any of that. So I wouldn't personally bother.

You might instead build a false wall to hide it, which would be a better solution.

Locksmith put mine in. Used lag bolts in concrete floor under carpet. But any safe can be defeated easily by a pro. It's just good if you have an alarm hooked up to a central station, with a tamper proof cellular back up. We had a thousand pounder in my gym, but with Dolly's and pulleys, they can roll it out onto a truck, given enough time. The whole idea is to slow them down.

Hiding a safe is the best way to prevent theft. If they don't see it they won't mess with it.:scrutiny:

I disagree with this statement 10000000%.

While most gun safes deliver somewhere from minimal to absolutely zero protection from a breach attack, there are tons of safes designed to keep skilled attackers out, many of which are affordable and readily accessible. Certainly layered security is worthwhile, and I agree the idea is to slow an attacker down, but with a gun safe that measures its armor in gauge we may be talking about a matter of seconds to defeat where as with a security safe it could be a matter of numerous hours.

If someone wants a safe for the purpose of burglary protection that can protect the contents from primitive and complex attacks alike, a true security safe can deliver just that, and quite often at a price much lower than what many people expect for that type of product.
