When mounting a 1x red dot sight on an AR-15 flattop (specifically the rail on the Kel-Tec SU-16B) rail, is it best to have the scope mounted as far back as possible, as far forward as possible, or in the middle?

As the sight doesn't magnify anything, is parallax-free, and does not seem to have any optimum distance from the eye (like telescopic sights do), there doesn't seem to be any technical reason why I shouldn't be able to mount it anywhere.

However, I may be missing something. Is there any advantages or disadvantages for mounting it in a certain position or not?

Cheers!

It's all personal preference. I like mine far back as possible because it kinda dissappears.
