Muzzle Flash

Hercules (old school) Unique always seemed to give the brightest flash of any powder I ever used. Not as spectacular maybe as the fireballs of Winchester 296 or Hodgdon H110, but it would light up a darkened shooting range,

"Back in the day" at a late evening IPSC club shoot, I caught a picture that had muzzle flash everywhere. You could see fire in the just ejected case, still burning in the ejection port (1911) and at the muzzle, but the real topper was the V flash out of the Magna Port (brand new in those days). Along with three or four other empty cases in the air. Pure dumb luck on my part. I do remember I had slowed the shutter speed way down in the dusty dark evening. The guy shooting was one of the top guns in the club.

I lost the photographs many years ago, when my ex and I split up, but it was a pretty cool shot.

I had one of about 40 guys shooting a low light qual with mini-14’s. That looked pretty cool. I didn’t lose it in a divorce :)thumbdown:), I had to turn in my old work telephone and it was on that. :(

Stay safe.
