I made the deal to buy a used .45 cal. flintlock rifle. I saw the photos and fell in love. It's got a Siler lock, Green Mtn. barrel and Davis trigger. Curly maple stock is gorgeous.
It's supposed to be here next Monday.

Monday seems like a year away.

Very nice, congrat!

"Monday seems like a year away."

Know what you mean, a few days seems like forever when waiting for something nice.

Beautiful rifle, i'm on the hunt for a flintlock rifle also, i've been shooting a friends Tip Curtis .32 caliber , and i'm hooked.
Let us know how it shoots.

BTW, nice socks :)

It has a suggestion of schnabel foreend. Who is the maker?

Nice rifle Bob ! That stock is real nice, and a Green mountain barrel... how could you not ! When you get the time, let us know how she shoots and all that good stuff ! ;)

I have made several furniture pieces using curly maple, also called tiger by some, and it is one of the most beautfull of woods.

Does one carry that in the woods hunting. After thirty years of Maine hunting several of my center fire rifles look like they have been through the war. In fact I was so bad I changed out my Mini thirty to a Zytel stock just to save the wooden one from dents and dings.

If it's not too long and carries well, I'll certainly hunt with it.
I've been hunting turkeys for two weeks with a SxS muzzleload shotgun. I just need them to cooperate with me. I've seen more deer than turkeys.
