hey all, as promised, here's the range report
let me preface this thread with 1) i'm not a great shooter and 2) it was 0600. 3) not an official range, so this isn't an exact science. just me, dirt and the swivel bipod out there.
calm morning, about 85 degrees out and climbing. the range itself had a slight incline going up towards my targets and i paced them out to 100. list of specs on the rifle: http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=461863
first three shots were high and left(pic1), after that, the day only got better. when i did my part, the groups went submoa without a problem (pic2). this is the highest quality rifle i've ever shot, so i was pleased to see my previous range trips accuracy wasn't ALL my fault. mostly the mosins
pic3 is the back of the box the targets were taped to, which shows all 25 shots taken today. pic4 is who came along (the glock didnt get to shoot though )
tried two kinds of ammo, remington core lok at 150grain and winchester 180 grains. both shot well (being as it was only about 100yds) but i think i prefer the heavier winchesters.
solid shooting gun whose definate limitation is me as the shooter. with some more practice hopefully i'll shrink those groups and up the consistency. definately going to tone down that 7lb trigger though.
thanks thr!
