I hope it's OK to add one final note regarding yesterday's events involving my Gun Broker auction. As of this morning my account appears to have been reinstated without comment.

My apologies once again to Gun Broker personnel and anyone else caused inconvenience by my actions.

I will offer the whole box of 45s including the famous one in a few days after we have had a chance to recover. Proceeds will be donated to the Fallen Warrior Project to help families of military people who lost their lives serving their country.

Thanks.

Um... correction. Thought my account was open but it's not. Oh well. Eventually...

Perhaps you'd be willing to trade mucho beacoup .45ACP ammunition for my RG .22 Short Revolver. The RG has the much sought after Tactical Loading Gate Lever.

So did they lock your account and stop the auction or did you?
They sent him a memo saying no more single round auctions, and he missed it. So they went ahead and closed the second auction and suspended him.

Personally I thought your little stunt on gunbroker was brilliant;)

Right now there's a single round of 9mm being sold on gunbroker starting at $1250, is this one yours as well? The description on the auction reads as follows>
Offered for your consideration is one round (not one case or one box but one single round) of genuine 9MM ammunition. This is something rarely seen (at least since November 4th) and is hard to find at any price. The round of ammo includes a real brass casing; one full metal jacket bullet weighing 115 grains; a generous amount of hard-to-obtain gunpowder; and one nearly impossible to locate primer. Yes, you read that correctly. This round of ammo actually comes fully equipped with a real primer! Just try finding one of those! Imagine the thrill of actually being able to shoot your gun for a change. You will be the talk of the neighborhood when news gets around that you actually fired your pistol with your round of ammo. You may want to keep your round of ammo as an investment as prices are sure to keep rising. Just think of the confidence you will feel when you walk around with your round of ammo in your shirt pocket (Barney Fife was 50 years ahead of his time). Every man will want to be you and every woman will want to be with you when they learn that you possess a round of ammo. Your neighbor with the van Gogh painting will die of envy when he learns that you have obtained a genuine round of ammo. Playboy models will beat a path to your door when they hear the news! This is an opportunity which may never come around again. Act now and make your bid. Don’t let this one get away! Starting price is a ridiculously low one thousand two hundred and fifty dollars with NO RESERVE! Payment by money order only. Please add $5 for insured shipping within the Continental United States (additional charge to AK and HI). Sold as is, no returns. Please include a signed affidavit swearing that you did not vote for Barack Obama or your payment will be returned and the item will be relisted.

That looks like the text from my first auction but I am suspended and have no auctions running. I guess a copycat auction using my stolen text and THAT'S all I need is for people to keep pissing off GB owners in my name.

It seems like GB took it down, i cannot find it anywhere...

SaxonPig, you are da man! I can't wait to see what the whole box will go for, the most famous round of ammo in the world, and for the FW project...

God forbid that anyone -- anyone -- would exhibit a sense of humor these days. Shame on you, Saxon Pig. Shame shame shame.

I'm with searcher451 and SaxonPig; in this ever stifling and conforming world we live in, it's refreshing to see some humor now and again.

im really upset because i really wanted it and had entered a max bid of 1400, although i was the current winning bidder last time i looked at 1350.

oh well, day late and a dollar short as usual

I only wish I would've taken a snapshot of the auction page before GB ended it. :banghead:

SaxonPig... CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP. I applaud your comic creativity, & guarantee the next THR "meet & greet" that you attend, will find you held high upon their shoulders cheering.... , chanting "Saxon Pig, Saxon pig, Saxon Pig!" :D:D:D

FWIW - SaxonPig was what I heard last night standing in a restroom @ a sports bar. Two guys were talking about the "Famous 45acp" while washing their hands. The story is EVERYWHERE!! :what:

SaxonPig, if I were to send you a 45acp w/o powder & primer... would you autograph it for me? I promise to split all auction proceeds after selling it on fleabay. :D:D

Have they set the minimum amount of ammo you're allowed to sell yet? Would 2 rounds be OK? Or does it take an entire box?

So uh... what happened? You tried to sell one round of .45 and gunbroker said no?

Infamous hoax award goes to: SaxonPig!! (he,he,he,he)

Gamera - Read post #7 & substitute 45acp in place of 9mm. A bidding war insued & the auction price (starting @ $1250) was 1 million+ inside of 36hrs.

Word of the single rd. 45acp GB auction was on at least 5 firearms forums inside of 6hrs.!!! :what: :D

the kicker is gunbroker takes a cut based on the final price the item sold for (3%, not sure if it is lower at higher prices) which means the 'joke seller' is on the hook for a big chunk of cash.

On the other hand, gunbroker waives their cut if the seller reports that the winning bidder did not pay, but GB generally bans that winning bidder's account.

It seems totally reasonable to me to run it inside of GB's rules. Hey, if you stupidly bid $1 million, and the worst that happens is you loose your account...fine.

Some folks had been saying 'no fair, the posting was a joke, bidders who participated with the joke shouldn't be taking a hit, but the seller should...he started it!

I tend to disagree with them, expecting the seller to be responsible for those who go off the deep end isn't right. It's like blaming the first guy who goes 60 in a 55 for a subsiquent person who goes 100 in a 55, and when caught points at the guy doing 60 and says 'no fair, that other guy did it first!'

Epilogue

My account was restored last night. The storm is over.

I will list an entire box of 45 ammo including the infamous one this Saturday as a charity auction for Fallen Warriors and I hope the people will refrain from nonsense bidding.

Thanks.

There are a bunch of single round auctions going on right now. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.asp?SearchType=0&Keywords=single+round
If it doesnt come up just search for "single round" and a bunch should come up. That's what is so messed up about this whole thing. Especially the second auction.

Too bad there is nothing to do about it. Saxon doesn't want us to complain so I personally will not.

Ps. Still love you, lol
